Vitamin E
Uses:
Alpha
tocopherol is one of eight naturally occurring tocopherols known as Vitamin E.
The alpha form is the most biologically active and is obtained as an oil from
plants, primarily wheat germ. Topical vitamin E is soothing to the skin and may
promote wound healing. Internally, vitamin E is considered the most important
fat-soluble antioxidant. It helps cells prevent or repair damage due to toxins.
Vitamin E also helps to thin the blood, and may protect the heart from damage
due to alcohol. Research on vitamin E supports its value in addressing hormone
imbalances at menopause.
