Diet! It is for maintaining good health, relieving poor mood and irritability, reducing the craving for carbohydrates, and normalizing sleep. It is an essential amino acid that is critical for the formation of many life-giving biomolecules,
including structural proteins, enzymes, and the neurotransmitters, serotonin and melatonin. For this reason, no other amino acid, vitamin, mineral, herb or drug
can take the place of it. Researchers at Princeton University have focused on factors that can actually stimulate cell growth in the hippocampus region of the brain. Perhaps the most promising of these factors is the neurotransmitter, serotonin, the natural metabolite of it. Although some symptoms of a deficiency may disappear quickly,
others may take time to show improvement. Essential amino acids are involved in a myriad of structural proteins and enzymes, as well as neurotransmitters, and so replacement may take time.*
Because Tryptophan is the least abundant amino acid in our diet, it should
be no surprise that Tryptophan supplements have been widely used to
correct deficiencies for more than a quarter of a century by doctors in the
United States and Europe. Psychiatrists, medical doctors, and nutritionists,
alike, have long recognized the importance of pure Tryptophan
for maintaining good health, relieving poor mood and irritability, reducing
the craving for carbohydrates, and normalizing sleep.
Tryptophan is not 5-HTP (which is less effective in at least 90% of patients) and costs
much less to manufacture. It is
the precursor to Serotonin, a neurotransmitter in the brain, which is deficient
in depression and naturally enhances sleep. Each capsule contains 500 mg of the highest quality USP Pharmaceutical Pure Grade pure

Recommended Daily Dosage:
A common dosage is one 500 mg capsule for
every 50 lbs. of body weight, one hour before bedtime, or as directed by a
healthcare professional. Researchers state that this may result in improved
sleep. In some cases, however, where sleep is followed by early a.m.
wakefulness, the wakefulness may diminish and disappear after a few weeks of
usage. Those who report wakefulness may switch to administration during the
day if wakefulness persists.
When indicated, allow sixty days for optimal results. With any new
supplement, it is best to start with a low dose and work up to the desired
dose gradually. Also, because several other amino acids may compete
with Tryptophan for absorption, it is best given with a beverage or a snack
containing minimal protein. Carbohydrates help to facilitate the passage through the blood-brain barrier. Do not exceed six capsules (three grams)
per day unless directed a healthcare professional.
Other Ingredients: gelatin capsule, vegetable stearic acid, plant cellulose and silica.
