Tyramine
These are the foods that contain tyramine or that contain bacteria with enzymes that can
convert tyrosine to tyramine:
- alcoholic beverages, wines, and beer
- homemade yeast breads, products made with yeast
- breads and crackers containing cheese
- sour cream
- aged game
- liver, chicken liver
- canned meats
- commercial meat extracts
- salami, sausage
- aged cheese: blue, brick, Brie, Camembert, cheddar, Colby, Emmenthaler,
Gouda, Mozzarella, Parmesan, provolone, Romano, Roquefort
- Salted dried fish; herring, cod, camlin; also pickled herring
- Italian broad beans
- eggplant
- commercial gravies or meat extracts
- soy sauce
- any food that has been stored improperly or that is spoiled
